Ashima Sharma is from Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. She is a student pursuing a Masters in Public Administration, and speaks Dogri, Hindi, and English. Her hobbies are dancing, and exploring new places and traditions. She was born 6 October 1994, and is 165 cm tall.
Ashima has been working as a folk dancer for the past seven years in Jammu and Kashmir. She has also won many national and state level modelling competitions. Ashima is associated with many NGOs which work for women empowerment.
My future goal in life is to represent my country internationally and become the first J&K girl to bring home an international crown, to promote my culture in the world. I also want to create an NGO under which I can teach slum area children who could not afford education. Making women empowered by teaching them self-defence is another dream project.

Believing in simple living and high thinking is a set phrase for the Himalayan people . They believe in having a simple and peaceful life. The people in the Himalayan regions are very close to nature, which makes them a simple people. But as time change everyone has to mold themselves according to that, and so the people are doing. But the most lovable thing is that they are not forgetting their culture and traditions. They live together happily and peacefully, which sets an example for the whole world.
